About the Event

James Logan is the clarinet professor at the University of Texas at El Paso. Prior to his appointment to UTEP, he was a member of the US Navy Band in Washington DC for 26 years, serving as Associate Principal Clarinetist. He appeared as soloist on nearly 100 concerts with this ensemble as well as solo performances.

Sue Kazama has enjoyed being a part of the musical community in Juneau for over 40 years.  After growing up in Medford, Oregon, where she studied with Tatiana Anderson, she studied for two years at Drake University with Guy Wuellner and David Harris.  In 1977 she and her husband, Blake, moved to Juneau and she continued her piano studies at UAS with Jean-Paul Billaud, Alberto Rafols, Neal O’Doan and Alexander Tutunov.  She has been active as a private piano teacher and accompanist, working with such groups as the Juneau Symphony Orchestra, Juneau Lyric Opera, Orpheus Project, Juneau Bach Society, UAS, Juneau Jazz and Classics and the Juneau School District. She is very thankful to be a part of such a supportive and loving community, and hopes to play here for many years to come!
